Earlier this
year, Mall Silks completed a project for the
Embassy Suites Hotel renovation in
Loveland,
Colorado. The project was installed by
A
Oak Farms out of Lexington, South Carolina. The project involved the manufacturing of
multiple 22' tall artificial Ficus Trees,
18' tall Shady Lady Olive Trees, and
numerous 8' trees of different types. The
22' trees required more construction than
our normal fabrication process as they had
to be extra wide to achieve the designers
desired look for the trees. A Mall Silks
tree of that height usually is about 11'
wide (our trees are usually built with a
width that is half the height). The
designer wanted these to be 16' wide. So,
we had to fabricate extra limbs which had to
be installed on the project site by the
installation contractor in order to achieve
the desired width. The bases designed to
hold the trees were square instead of round
for added stability and weight. All
together, there were more than 325,000
leaves used for the project, 1.5 tons of
cement, multiple large tree trunks, and over
300 man hours to manufacture the trees. The
trees were shipped on semi-trucks all the
way from Pittsburgh to Colorado and were
there on time for the night-time install
crew from A Oak Farms to put them in.
Thanks to our talented tree design team and
the A Oak Farms installation crew, the
installation was a success and the trees
exceeded the expectations of the project
designer for Embassy Suites. To view more
